Parts are available via IMSLP link HERE
NB: No password is required for the IMSLP site. If you haven't used IMSLP before or for some time, you will just need to click the link for 'I accept this disclaimer, continue to download file' and then wait approx 15 seconds in order to continue as a free user. The timer countdown will become an active 'proceed to download' link once the time has counted down to zero.
1. Navgate to the 'Parts' tab under 'Sheet Music' where parts are uploaded under the first title 'Complete'.
2. Apologies everyone; this is a bit of an effort to find... First, you will need to download your individual part. This is for the WHOLE piece, which lasts about 5 hours.
3. After clicking the link, you may see a message such as "Your download will continue in 8 seconds...", just wait as we do not have a paid subscription to this website.
4. After the prescribed waiting time, the link to your part will then go active and you can access it where it says "Click here to continue your download."
5. We are only playing the famous ‘Ride of the Valkyries’, which is the Prelude to Act 3’. Here’s how to find it. Important tip: the German word for ‘Act’ is ‘Aufzug’.
Act 1 (Aufzug I) starts with a Prelude (Vorspiel) then there are a total of 3 Scenes in Act 1.
Act 2 (Aufzug II) starts with a Prelude (Vorspiel) then there are a total of 5 Scenes in Act 2.
Once you have skipped through all of that, you finally arrive at Act 3 (Aufzug III). THIS IS IT!
Ride of the Valkyries is the opening of Act 3 and we will play up to the 5th bar of rehearsal figure 6.
5. Once you have found your part, print the relevant pages.
