Our first concert of the year 'A Space Odyssey' is coming up this Sunday 15th April, starting 2pm at St Peter's Lutheran College Performing Arts Centre. Don't miss out on this epic concert with one of the most exciting programs to date. We will be performing music from 'E.T.', 'Dr Who', 'Star Wars', 'Star Trek' and of course, 'Space Odyssey'. For the traditionalists, there will also be plenty of classical music with galactic theme such as Holst's 'The Planets', Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Games and Dances of the Stars' and much more. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day, the box office will be open at 1.15pm - arrive early to secure your preferred seat. We are very proud to announce that proceeds rom this concert will be going to the Starlight Foundation, a charity led by Captain Starlight, dedicated to making sick children smile. Share the Dignity is a fantastic charity based in QLD to advocate and provide help to homeless women, victims of domestic violence and the children affected. They consider all aspect of basic needs for women in crises and provides on the ground support.

Don't forget our chamber music event tomorrow (Sunday): Spring Soiree, at the Great Hall of Brisbane Grammar School. Bring a cushion and/or blanket to make yourself comfortable for this intimate musical event, where our soloists will share with you an enchanting program. QMO's Spring Soiree has always been a special and intimate event. This year, our showcase event will be held at the Great Hall of Brisbane Grammar School on Sunday 29th October starting at 2pm.
Spring Soiree is our annual chamber music event where some of our most talented soloists showcase their technical prowess and amazing musicality. The quality of musicianship is guarateed and will not disappoint. This year, the QMO Spring Soiree will feature Dr Jee Yong and Dr Julia Finch performing the Debussy Cello Sonata, a trio of our finest string players performing the Borodin String Trio, Dr Michael Lam and our concertmaster Dr Eleanor Robinson performing the Honegger Duo as well as Professor Emma Duncan performing some spectacular piano works.
